Sadly most drivers neglect this book but as driving laws and road conditions change then so does the highway code, those that don't keep up with modern driving then wonder what everyone else is doing. Their ignorance of the code could lead them to the police and possibly the end of their precious licence. Learners should read this as part of their practise for the theory test as many of the questions are drawn from it but once the theory is passed don't neglect it as you will be assesed on your interpretation of it during your practical. Always keep it with you and don't become just another driver blundering around the roads. PDI's should also read it as again it will be used as part of your theory and advanced tests. there are no short cuts to gain a licence and instructor badge, and PDI's remember, if your going to teach it you should know it inside and out. This book is written by the DSA the people that set the tests so you can be assured that what you read is what you need. Everything you will be taught during your lessons can be found in this book so to have a better understanding of what is required to drive and pass please read it, and again many of the questions for your theory can be found in this publication. Good instructors will always have an up to date copy to refer to so they are always aware of the ever changing modern driving.

This CD-rom is one of the best tools on the market for learners, 2 to 3 CD's covering the theory, hazard perception and a look as to what you need to acheive on the practical test, some may also contain the highway code but we still recommend that you buy the highway code in book format as it's then readily available. What it doesn't give you is a look into your lesson content so see book below. This poduct is becoming readily available but please make sure you get the most up to date version, at present it's 09/10 as the theory change slightly in Sept 09.

Looking to become a driving instructor? This is your first port of call, giving you an insight into what is needed to be successful and broadening your horizon as to level and work you can acheive once you have passed the part 3 exam. Good instructors still draw on this publication as it is continually updated to allow for improvements in the driving industry. It should be stressed, and it is also stated in the book, that the book is opinion only and not fact but we still recomend that you purchase it before you outlay any course money. For instructors only. I can honestly say this publication, although an arduos read, really set me up on my instructional career, it will give you an insight on how to adjust to the different characters and attitudes you may find entering your car. It will cover Cognitive skills, Phsycomotor skills and learning plateau's. I have not met many Instructors that have read this book but would recommend that you read it and let it help you on your way to becoming an above average instructor. This book gives you a more in depth look at modern roadsigns and introduces the reader to the more obscure, each sign is detailed with more information than the highway code can offer. It also covers roadmarkings, probably one of the most neglected areas of modern motorists. available through motoring organisations and online.
